Accessibility Statement
Effective Date: March 8, 2026 · Last Updated: March 8, 2026
AIA Simplified is committed to ensuring that our website and platform are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We design and build our products with accessibility in mind and work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
1. Our Commitment
We believe that digital tools used in government compliance contexts must be accessible to everyone who needs to use them. Our platform is intended for use by federal institutions and their staff across a wide range of roles and abilities.
We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the Standard on Web Accessibility published by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, which references WCAG 2.0 Level AA as the baseline standard for Government of Canada web properties.
2. Standards We Target
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA — our target for all new development and significant updates to aia-simplified.com.
- Keyboard navigability — all interactive elements are operable via keyboard without requiring a mouse.
- Screen reader compatibility — we use semantic HTML, ARIA roles and labels, and descriptive text alternatives for non-text content.
- Colour contrast — text and interactive elements meet or exceed the WCAG minimum contrast ratios.
- Resizable text — content remains readable and functional at up to 200% zoom without loss of content or functionality.
3. Known Limitations
We are aware that some areas of the platform may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known areas under active improvement include complex data tables within the assessment interface and certain dynamic form interactions in the app. We are actively working to address these.
4. Requesting Accessible Formats or Accommodations
If you encounter an accessibility barrier or require content in an alternative format, please contact us. We will work to provide the information or functionality you need in an accessible way.
4.1 Response Time
We aim to respond to accessibility requests within five business days.
