Accepted Answer

No. This is an independent execution engine built to align with the official Treasury Board AIA schema and Directive on Automated Decision-Making requirements. It does not replace Treasury Board authority or the official submission process.

Is the AIA mandatory for internal government systems?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Following the 2022–2023 review, the Directive expanded to include internal-facing systems. The previous exemption for government-to-government systems was removed.

What is the deadline for DADM compliance for legacy systems?

Systems developed or procured before 2025-06-24 must achieve full compliance, including a completed AIA, by 2026-06-24.

How many questions are in the official TBS AIA v3.0?

The current schema contains 106 questions: 65 focused on raw impact and risk assessment, and 41 focused on mitigation measures.

How do I drop an AIA Impact Level from Level III to Level II?

Accepted Answer

A mitigation adjustment applies only if the system achieves at least 80 percent of its maximum mitigation score. When that threshold is met, the raw impact score is reduced by 15 percent before determining the final level.
